This pattern uses weight 6 blanket yarn. Any yarn may be used, but your crochet hook size will be different. Use a hook 1-2 sizes smaller than your yarn calls for. This pattern is in US crochet terms.
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds and using a stitch marker to mark the first stitch is recommended.
*Safety eyes are NOT recommended for children who are three years old or younger.
The Candy Corn pictured in the pattern is made with Sweet Snuggles Lite
Arms (Make 2 in orange)
Make these first as we will be crocheting them directly onto the body in round 7 below.
R1: 6 sc in a magic ring
R2-3 (2 rounds): 6 sc
Do not stuff. 3 sc across to close. Fasten off, no need to leave a long tail for sewing.
Body
In white:
R1: 4 sc in a magic ring
R2: (1 sc, inc) x 2 (6)
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
R4: (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)
Change to orange:
R5: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
R6: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
R7: 5 sc, 3 sc with the first arm (see picture below), 8 sc, 3 sc with the second arm, 5 sc (24)
R8: 24 sc
Change to yellow:
R9: 24 sc
R10: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
Insert safety eyes in between rounds 7 and 8, about 4 visible stitches apart. Ensure that they are centered between the arms.
R11-12 (2 rounds): 30 sc
R13: 30 sc in the back loop only
R14: 15 dec (15)
Stuff the candy corn. Continue stuffing as you go, but do not overstuff the bottom or else it will not sit properly. Ensure that you shape out the top of the candy corn so that it is a nice triangular shape.
R15: 7 dec, sc (7)
Fasten off and sew hole shut.
