Blueberry! Easy Crochet Pattern

Materials:

  • Weight 6 yarn
  • Size J/6.0mm
  • Stuffing
  • Safety Eyes or felt eyes
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch Marker

Abbreviations:

  • mr = magic ring
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in next stitch)
  • dec = invisible decrease (sc 2 stitches together)

This pattern uses weight 6 blanket yarn. Any yarn may be used, but your crochet hook size will be different. Use a hook 1-2 sizes smaller than your yarn calls for. This pattern is in US crochet terms.

This pattern is worked in continuous rounds and using a stitch marker to mark the first stitch is recommended.

*Safety eyes are NOT recommended for children who are three years old or younger.

The blueberries pictured in the pattern are made with Sweet Snuggles Lite.

Blueberry:

R1: 8 sc in a magic ring

R2: 8 inc (16)

R3: (1 sc, inc) x 8 (24)

R4: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)

R5-9 (5 rounds): 30 sc

R10: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

R11: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

Insert safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9, about 4 stitches apart.

R12: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Begin stuffing the blueberry. Continue stuffing as you go.

R13: in the front loop only *3 hdc in one stitch, sc* around

R14: using the back loops of R13 6 dec (6)

Fasten off and sew the hole shut. Embroider a mouth if you'd like.

Could not edit previous comment, so to update, I used (first st of 3hdc with sc) for each dec. …Not sure…

Such a cute blueberry!
I don’t understand Rd 14 though. How does dec 6 (in back loops of round 13) result in (6) when you are essentially increasing in R13 by doing the 3hdc in every second st?

Thank you! This came out adorable. I used big twist posh yarn with a 5.5mm hook. <3

I am 12, and I just learned how to crochet and use puffy yarn, so this pattern is endlessly useful for me! Thank you for making this free.
