*Safety eyes are NOT recommended for children who are three years old or younger.

The Bear pictured in the pattern is made with Sweet Snuggles Lite.

Bear:

R1: 6 sc in a magic ring

R2: 6 inc (12)

R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)

R4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)

R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)

R6-10 (5 rounds): 30 sc

R11: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

R12: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

Place safety eyes between rounds 7 and 8, about 5 stitches apart. Begin stuffing the head and continue stuffing as you go.

R13: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Change to orange:

R14: 12 inc (24)

R15: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)

R16: (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)

R17-21 (5 rounds): 36 sc

R22: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)

R23: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

R24: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

R25: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)

R26: 6 dec (6)

Fasten off and sew hole shut. Take a long piece of yarn and create sections of the pumpkin by threading it up through the bottom and into the top. Pull on the yarn gently to secure each segment - be careful as blanket yarn snaps easily! (see pictures)

Ears:

R1: 6 sc in a magic ring

R2: 6 inc (12)

R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)

R4: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Fold in half and sew onto each side of the bear directly behind each eye. Do not stuff.

Snout:

R1: 6 sc in a magic ring

R2: 6 inc (12)

R3: 12 sc

Fasten off and sew onto the bear’s face in between the eyes. Stuff lightly as you go. Embroider a nose if you'd like.

Arms:

R1: 6 sc in a magic ring

R2: 6 inc (12)

R3: 12 sc

R4: (2 sc, dec) x 3 (9)

R5-6 (2 rounds) 9 sc

No need to stuff. Fold in half and sc across top to close. Fasten off. Sew onto the neck of the bear, ensuring the arms are symmetrical.

*If desired, cut out a jack-o-lantern face with felt and hot glue it onto the pumpkin!
